The skill of writing, more
specifically storytelling is declining rapidly in American
students. Add to that, our schools have less and less funds to
work with. The problem only spirals downward. How can we help
change this? A writing contest. Not just any contest, there
are lots of them out there. But, a unique writing contest that
is a fundraiser and embraces a healthy green approach. No
more need to sell candy bars that promote obesity and gift-wrap
that can’t be recycled; activities that are staunchly rejected
by Linda Hodge, the national president of the PTA.
The idea for this contest is
the brainchild of Richard Neumann a CFO with over fifteen years
in the publishing industry, author of four books, and founder of
an independent publishing company. He was trying to find a way
to help raise money on a continuing basis for a non-profit youth
drug abuse foundation he works with, when the idea of a writing
contest with a unique twist came to mind.
We are currently seeking
partners and investors to help launch this program.
